This washes bacteria, endotoxins and necrotic tissue from the wound into the wound cover allowing these to be removed when the dressing is changed, which also becomes easier as a result. In addition, an anti-bacterial environment is formed
Notes on application
- Apply Medihoney™ Barrier Cream to the edges of the wound.
- Medihoney™ Antibacterial Medical Honey can be applied directly to the wound base.
- To care for deep wounds a suitable dressing can be dipped in Medihoney™ Antibacterial Medical Honey.
- Ensure that Medihoney™ Antibacterial Medical Honey is in full contact with the wound base (approx. 3mm thick layer).
- A suitable dressing for exudate management should be used to cover Medihoney™ Antibacterial Medical Honey.
- Medihoney™ Antibacterial Medical Honey can be left on the wound for up to 7 days irrespective of the wound secretion.
Clinical and in-vitro studies have shown that Medihoney™ Antibacterial Medical Honey is effective against a wide range of bacteria even in low concentrations.
